Brief Description of Fellowship Program (Max 250 Words): The Reconstructive Urology and Gender Affirming Surgery Program at the Belgrade Center for Urogenital Reconstructive Surgery is a 6 to 12 months program designed to train urology residency graduates in the surgical and clinical skills in all fields of genitourinary reconstruction including pediatric and adolescent reconstructive urology, urethral and penile reconstruction, prosthetic surgery, and all aspects of gender affirming surgery, under the guidance and extensive expertise of the Belgrade Center faculty.  The goal of this fellowship program is to teach the requisite cognitive and technical knowledge and skills in the management of congenital and acquired urological anomalies with an emphasis on gender-affirming surgery. Fellows will learn and refine diagnosis and evaluation, along with management strategies in the field, but they will also be included in scientific work and research activities. The fellowship training involves active surgical participation, not mere observation.  The fellow’s progress is monitored throughout the year and they are expected to become fully proficient in all aspects of the care of patients undergoing reconstructive surgical intervention. Fellows will gain increasing autonomy and responsibility for leading cases and teaching members of the resident team as they progress through the training program. By the completion the fellow will have developed and enhanced their operative techniques and clinical skills in the pre- and post-operative management of advanced urologic reconstructive surgery.

Eligibility Requirements/Criteria (When Applicable): A letter of support from the applicant’s urological training program director is required, and two further letters of support are required. Brief Description of Fellowship Program: The EAMC Fellowship Training in Reconstructive Urology is the first such program in Southeast Asia. It is a 1-year program that focuses on complex urethral , genital, and abdominal reconstruction. We are a high volume trauma center that does approximately 150-170 urethroplasties per year including a large number of PFUI cases. In addition to this, we encounter a high volume of genital reconstruction for paraffinomas and ureteral reconstructions for long strictures secondary to genitourinary tuberculosis as well as injuries to the upper tract. We also do approximately 30-50 urinary diversions per year. The fellow also gets to participate in surgical outreach missions to the provinces which adds to the diversity of cases he/she encounter.

Brief Description of Fellowship Program (Max 250 Words): The NDMC Reconstructive Urology Fellowship provides advanced training in male urethral reconstruction under the direct mentorship of Professor Akio Horiguchi, a leading authority in reconstructive urology. Fellows participate in over 200 reconstructive surgeries annually, gaining expertise in diverse surgical techniques.  In addition to urethral reconstruction, fellows receive hands-on training in pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence surgeries, ensuring a well-rounded skill set. The program also emphasizes research and innovation, particularly in tissue engineering for urethral strictures.
