Ms. Elaine Redmond is a Consultant Urologist at Cork University Hospital with a special interest in adult and paediatric reconstruction. She qualified from the University College Cork in 2008. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS (Urol)) in 2017 and completed her Higher Surgical Training in Urology with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 2019. In 2020, she completed a GURS accredited fellowship in reconstructive urology at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton. Following this, she completed a second fellowship in paediatric urology at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver. Ms. Redmond has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications. Her research interests include urethral stricture disease and hypospadias. She has received numerous awards and grants for her work including the Irish Society of Urology Research Medal (2013), Colles Fellowship Grant (2019/2021) and the prestigious Ainsworth Scholarship (2019, 2020). She is a serving member of the GURS Young Reconstructive Urologists committee and EAU Young Academic Urologists Reconstructive Working Group.
